Understanding Dryness & Redness

Dryness, dehydration, dullness and redness can overlap, but they do not always have the same cause. Skin may feel tight or flaky because its barrier is disrupted, while dehydration can affect how plump or comfortable it feels. Redness may be temporary or linked to sensitivity, environmental triggers or an inflammatory skin condition. Persistent, painful or unexplained symptoms should be assessed appropriately rather than treated as a purely cosmetic issue.

A helpful starting point is often to simplify the routine. Gentle cleansing, a well-tolerated moisturiser and daily sun protection can support the skin barrier. Fragrance, over-exfoliation and combining multiple strong active ingredients may aggravate some people, so the most useful routine is not necessarily the most complicated one.

At Bavary Clinic, selected facials or other professional treatments may be considered when suitable, but reactive skin needs a cautious approach. If rosacea or another medical skin condition is suspected, assessment and management by an appropriate healthcare professional may be more important than a peel or resurfacing treatment. Choices should reflect how the skin is behaving at the time of the appointment.

With a measured plan, the aim is to improve comfort and support a healthier-looking complexion over time. We can discuss product compatibility, possible triggers and realistic next steps without promising to eliminate redness or sensitivity completely.
