Hair thinning can have many causes, including genetics, hormonal changes, stress, nutritional deficiencies, scalp conditions, medication and other medical factors. The pattern and timing of hair loss are important clues, so it is worth identifying the likely cause before investing in a procedure or product. Sudden, patchy, painful or rapidly progressing hair loss should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Following assessment, PRP may be discussed for selected types of hair thinning where it is considered appropriate. It is not suitable for every cause of hair loss, and results vary; regrowth cannot be guaranteed. Your practitioner may recommend medical assessment or investigations first, particularly if the hair loss is new, unexplained or accompanied by other symptoms.
A gentle hair and scalp routine can support comfort, but cosmetic products alone cannot correct every underlying cause. Be cautious with products that promise guaranteed regrowth or with supplements taken without a clear reason. If a deficiency or medical condition is suspected, targeted advice is more useful than trialling multiple products at once.
At Bavary Clinic, we can discuss the options available, realistic expectations, the likely time needed to assess a response and any limitations of treatment. The aim is to make an informed decision based on your circumstances, with appropriate medical input where needed.
